With the simple idea that “Golf should be fun”, Swannies Golf was born. Swannies began with a fun and functional spikeless golf sandal and has quickly spread into a full men’s line of golf apparel that is designed to have a casual and comfortable feel while connecting people through the joy of the game.
I was happy to get my hands on some of the hip new Swannies apparel and accessories. The first thing I received was a signature fitted Swannies hat which I quickly put on my head and made my way to the course. The O’Brien Meshback hat was a perfect fit and the one size fits most was a great fit for me. I rarely wear a mesh back hat and found that I really liked it because it helped keep me cooler than I’m used to.
Shortly after that I received Swannies signature polos, The Delta Golf hat and the Callan Backpack and planned to hit the course the following Saturday in my new stylish gear. I was excited to pack my new backpack. With all the external pockets it was easy to put my sunscreen and wireless speaker outside where they are easy to reach. The Callan Backpack is also roomy enough inside that I was able to put my valuables, some snacks and my spiked golf shoes for when I’m choosing to use them. The bag held all that I needed safely while never feeling overstuffed and the adjustable padded straps kept me comfortable. It was nice to have everything I needed in one spot both on and off the course. This bag can now go with me anywhere I need to go versus needing to remove things from my golf bag and repack them every week. I also was never concerned that it couldn’t handle being lugged around as it was secure and made tough. I especially like the simplicity of the solid grey fabric which is non descript and will easily go with anything I put on to wear.
The polos are a polyester and spandex combination with an athletic cut so it lays beautifully but it’s recommended that you size up due to the cut. I found this to be true. Each polo has the signature Swannies logo swan placed somewhere on the shirt so everyone is sure to see what you’re representing.
Along with promoting the fun of the game, Swannies has worked hard at partnering with great organizations to take their product to the next level. Swannies has partnered with a variety of companies to launch their 2018 Party Scramble Series. This is where teams are meeting at a local brewery to enjoy pre-round drinks before being transported by party bus to the course. When they get to the course participants will play a nine-hole team scramble with three party games along the way. Scoring is a combination of results from both golf and party games. Just another way that Swannies is focusing on reaching a new demographic of golfer. This tournament is hitting 16 cities nationwide and I’m looking forward to the Tampa stop which I am definitely planning to attend.
One more way Swannies is trying to reach a younger demographic is expanding into the craft beer market. Introduced this Father’s Day was the Swannie’s Summer Ale. The partnership with 12welve Eye Brewing was just another way they hope to create a fun and relaxed atmosphere on the course. Personally, I’m hoping this will help grow the game and help younger men and women realize that this isn’t just your grandpa’s game anymore.
