Callaway FT OptiForce Driver

The Callaway FT OptiForce driver is a 2013 mid-season release for Callaway. They boast it as lighter and longer. Callaway FT OptiForce driver review is a 2013 mid-season release for Callaway. They boast it as lighter and longer. In a year that saw probably the best success in Callaway drivers, the need for a 3rd driver that looks much like old Callaway models is well... odd. None the less Callaway deemed it necessary.

The OptiForce will have features lacking the Xhot and Fit X models, mainly in the tuning area. You will now be able to tun loft, lie and face angle instead of just face angle. The FT OptiForce will be available in 2 head styles. A 460cc performance/more forgiving head that can adjust -1,+1 or +2 in loft with a standard of 10.5.

The smaller 440cc head will have the same adjustments but start at a 9.5 loft that can be adjusted to -1, +1 or +2. Each will be up to go up or down in lie by 2 degrees. Weighing in at 192g, it has to be the lightest fully adjustable driver.

With a stock 46" shaft this will probably be too much club for most golfers, specially coupled with that ultra-light weight. Shaft options will be a Mitsubishi Diamana S+, which is a really great lightweight option and the 43g Project X Velocity shaft.

The FT OptiForce will be available on July 12th at all major retailers.
