I am debating between a Garmin Approach G7 and a Nikon Coolshot. Both account for elevation. I know there are some phone apps, but I don't want to always have my phone on me on the course. I Like the fact that a GPS gives more distances, lay-up, ect. But I also like the exact distance a laser can give. Thoughts? Anyone use either of these?

I used to use GPS systems on the phone and will occasionally at a new course so I can see a hole layout if they have blind shots, but I use the Bushnell V2 Tour Rangefinder and love it!

I always just rely on my trusty Corey Kasif for his Laser yardage finder. I can't remember what he uses though of the top of my head.

I haven't used a Nikon other than my DSLR cameras. If they're anything like their other products than it'll be good. I've personally used the Bushnell V2 (no slope) and prefer it over GPS/phone apps. No battery drain etc but more importantly you never need to worry about a course not being loaded.

I've had both a Bushnell V2 and a Garmin S1 and I prefer the S1. I feel it helps the pace of play. You just look at your wrist, look at the flag color and go. I am just a weekend golfer so I am just out for the fun of it. If I were playing more competitively, my choice might differ. I might want a more accurate yardage.
