what are you stamping it with?

If you need some tips on stamping let me know. It is harder than you think

i have a little chipper club i just dug out of my spares/odd club bag. The head is powder coated black (i think its a powder coating.. but thats a complete guess.. haha). The paint has chipped/flaked/worn off through age... any ideas as to how to restore it?

Can u post a pic of it Jim? You can strip it and then gun blue it, powder coating it will fill in the grooves too much but you can pick up a gun blue kit at you local gun or outdoor store

you cant really see the oil and water rainbow effect i got from the gun blue.. but man its lovely.
Thank you Putter Addict for all your help and guidance on this little project.. its been fun :)

Nice work Jim, glad I could help.

Did not know Walmart carried Gun Blue. What brand is it? Might be interesting to compare different brands. The one I have is from Bass Pro, I think I paid 20 for it.

just a reminder that when you sand any putter down you are taking off the finish and it is then supseptiable to rust.

The key to keeping the club rust free is dry, covered and oiled. You can use baby oil or an oil cloth.

I have no idea, my dad is doing it at his work. They have all kinds of stuff there.

i used Birchwood Casey Prema Blue liquid gun blue.
gun blue for steel, Touch-up or complete reblue. 3fl oz for $4.95
its a little blue bottle (go figure..lol) with a white cap. the gun blue liquid is clear though.
i need to find some way of rust proofing the chipper though.. apparently the gun blue doesnt protect it.. and the iron is still classed as in raw form.
