Was thinking of putting a set of these in a new set of irons. I am really liking the feel of the True Temper Dynalite shafts that came with a cheap set of Tour Model IV's I bought. It was cheaper than reshafting my old clubs. The only problem is not alot of distance.(150yds with a 5I). Thought I would try a lighter shaft in the new heads and see how they work. I would appreciate any comments or thoughts from the knowledgable members here.

What's your usual distance with a 5 iron? It sounds like spin is a huge issue.

Apollo was a terrific shaft a number of years ago although I do not have evperience with that model.

They are alllllright. Problem with super lite steel shafts is you start losing the low torque that you are used to from regular steel shafts. then you start seeing unwanted ball spin. 2 yards more from a light iron shaft isnt worth the offline nightmares at first. But maybe someone not as old school as me has a diff opinion? :)

I use to hit my old 5I about 170yds. That was with a stiff graphite shaft and they were built for me when I was a young and healthy 21yr old. At 41 I don't swing that hard anymore. So when I started playing again in June I went with a reg flex steel shaft. Just trying to find a little more distance with a good feel. The new iron heads are going to have stronger lofts but are designed to get the ball up easier so some distance should be gained.
