Heat gun to make the tape peel off easy. Then rubbing alcohol to clean off any remaining residue.

I've been using one of these for about 10 years, works great. 24 bucks might seem like a lot but if you regrip a couple of times per year, it's worth the investment.

How often does everyone change grips?

I guess its personal preference as to how often you want to re grip your clubs.
