I think its a great way to get their clubs on the radar of people who snub Nike. They started a golf company from scratch. Adidas bought taylormade which was an already functional golf company. Puns bought cobra from titleist. Fila group bought titleist. And so on. For a relatively new golf company they have made strides and there should be a time that people take a serious look. Well... Except for their drivers and tour level golf balls...but looks like we might be checking one of those off in 2013.

I'd like to see them really put some R&D into one aspect of the game, get really good at it and then build on it. I realize they've got extremely deep pockets, but claim a niche in the market for your equipment, not the people who endorse it. When people think of Nike right now, the first thought that comes to mind isn't what, it's who!!
Self confessed GB.com junkie currently undergoing intensive out-patient, on the golf course treatment program

I think the reason most people think who and not what is only due to people are not willing to give them a try or think they can contend in the golf world. People should give them a chance they are alot closer to competition than you think they are!

Nike is a great company. The amount of money they put in R&D and the work at their Oven research facility is pretty awesome.

Here's a hypothetical, (cause it prolly won't happen), but lets say Rory has a down year his first season with Nike. Is that good for titleist???
Thanks to GB for the great giveaways. Nike x3x wedge
