Is it just me, or does the Fox announcers seem.....clunky?!?
Seems like they're searching way too hard for some relevant comments during their coverage.
I like that they brought in Greg Norman - but still, he's not a regular broadcaster on Tour and his comments were pretty generic.
Granted, not many people know much about Chambers Bay, so perhaps that's why the broadcasters are struggling a bit.

Regardless - I'll watch it as much as I can. I am enjoying the tournament so far - nice to see the best in the world struggle on a very difficult course. If you miss a shot - you pay, which is the way it should be!!
Are the greens sketchy?!? Yep - now the Pro's have a better idea of what the common person plays on week in and week out.

Very well said, I agree the Broadcasters are searching a little bit here and there. It is fun watching the players struggle but it is also amazing to watch them hit some of the shots they have on this unforgiving course.

This US Open is why I typically only watch the majors and don't have any interest in watching the pros tear apart perfectly manicured courses. They are the best in the world so give them the toughest tests that golf has to offer IMO. I will keep watching with interest to watch this survival test.

I think it is getting used to the course and how it plays. Kinda like Thursday and Friday are practice for Buck and Norman. Norman has no broadcasting backtound. Buck does football and Baseball. By Saturday when it switches to Fox and the audience is much bigger they gotta bringnit. And don't expect any Johnny Miller comments calling guys out for bad shots from Norman since he hadnhis share of chokes. And Buck knows golf. He is a single digit handicap. Suprised Fox didn't just go with the Sunday Football pregame show on this one. They got Curt Menefee, need Troy Moose and Goose. Goose on the course. Get Mike Pereira to break down the tough rule decisions.

they struggled a bit, but overall I didn't think it was too bad, actually better than I was expecting. I love Corey Pavin as a player, but good god is he awful as an on-course commentator. I also thought Tom Weiskopf went on waaaaaay too much about "real links" courses and blah blah blah, it had no value other than to showboat his course designer "knowledge".
