Personally I think the course isn't any good... I think you'll all see pretty much universal criticism of the course from ALL players and analysts once the tournament is over

It's a great golf course, I've played it. I am not thrilled with what the USGA did to it though, I know they wanted to toughen it up for this event but it's lead to comments just like this and it's not fair to the course. I'm not picking on you at all Connor, I think a lot of people will be left with the impression that the golf course is ridiculous but when it's playing in "normal" conditions, it's not so severe and is a solid test of golf. I wish they had left it a little greener and a little softer and it would have showed better on TV. It never looked like THAT when I've played it.

I was going to say, I have always heard great things about that course. It is a shame the USGA basically almost killed the course to make it play so tough. I don't think that is a true to the game of golf because the course wasn't meant to play like that. But either way it was fun to watch, and it for sure produced some drama and a great ending. So in the end I guess the USGA won.

yep, agree, it wasn't meant to be played like that. For every day play, the greens are about a 6 or 7 on the stimp because of the severity of the slopes on the green. I can't even imagine what it was like to putt at those speeds. I think the "bumpiness" was also a result of that, when they let them grow a little bit they are a more even surface.
