Interesting enough the complaints are also arising from other outlets. I am enjoying this course. The challenge alone brings excitement.

The US Open is supposed to be the hardest major to win. What do these guys expect. I think the course looks great on TV. Reminds me of a course you might see at a British Open

Personally I think the course isn't any good... I think you'll all see pretty much universal criticism of the course from ALL players and analysts once the tournament is over

There were many American's complaining about the course. The greens were horrible, even for a "muni" course "we" play on. I saw Justin Rose miss a 2 footer, the ball stopped at the hole and settled backwards. I can't remember what hole I was watching, but it honestly felt like I was watching someone try and play putt putt with the banks and side slopes.

Last comment, I also think it is a shame that the USGA alter the course as much as they did. Google image pics of Chambers Bay, green lush fairways and greens is what will show up. Play the course as it was designed.

And I believe the 5 under par scores from the 1st round were the lowest under par opening rounds in US Open history. Also, plenty of rallies and low rounds yesterday. You can't say the course was too tough. Plenty of players played well. Only crybabies were those who werent playing well.
