Cleveland Classic 290 Driver
Back: Cleveland CG Black Next: Cobra AMP

One of the drivers that we were really excited about is the Cleveland Classic 290. It’s hard to beat the looks of this club with its small pear shape design and classic persimmon style finish. The club face is the deepest Cleveland has ever produced, and by way of their maxCOR2 technology, off center shots still produce very playable drives. The Classic finished above average with a distance of 261 yards, and with an average club speed of 107.1. The Classic 290 finished as runner up for most forgiving driver ceding the award to its counterpart, the Cleveland CG Black. Bottom line is that this driver is just easy to swing. The Cleveland Classic 290 proved to be a surprising fan favorite in terms of forgiveness, distance, and its classy finish. We would recommend the Cleveland 290 to a mid handicap player looking for a low spinning driver with ultimate forgiveness.

Cleveland proudly introduces a RETRO look with their Classic line of drivers. Our initial opinion was that this driver was a cool looking show piece, but we found that there is a lot more that the Classic 290 has to offer.

Cleveland boasts the largest and deepest club face ever produced for one of their drivers. The incredibly large face just inspires additional confidence when you enter the tee box. Our first thought was "how could you not hit a good shot with all that surface area!"

The Cleveland Classic 290 driver is among the lightest drivers on the market and helps players generate measurable increases in swing speed. This driver features a premium Miyazaki C. Kua 43 graphite shaft and Lamkin SuperLite 36g grip.

From the top line view, you can still see the golf colored trapezoid section on the face which really helps with aligning your shot.
