Introduction-

The Refiner Pro Graphite is graphite shafted training driver. Using the Refiner Pro helps you learn a smooth, even-tempo golf swing and is designed to hit golf balls. With a two-way adjustable-hinged club you are able to see your swing flaws immediately by the way the hinge breaks. The shaft is dual-colored Black on front with Yellow on the back side. They do this to assist you visually for an on-plane swing path. The grip has a design to set your hands in the correct position every time. By doing this you are able to square the club-face easier.

Performance-

Time to read packaging that came with the Refiner. When I was done reading I went to the SKLZ web page. They have a nice series of videos to watch on the use of The Refiner Pro. I found it useful. At the end I will post the links for SKLZ. I guess I should start by letting you know that I have an 18 handicap. I also tend to slice my drives. Okay with that out of the way let me get started. With a picture of all the hinge breaks nearby, it was time to get acquainted. I got in my driver stance and started my swing. Oh no! Hinge break already. Reset hinge break several more times. I looked at my chart it read either I was too fast or inside/outside. Let me start by slowing down. Yes success!! Well that did not last long. I was breaking down at the take away. No more wasting time. I was going to read what I did wrong as soon as the club hinge broke. I continued this for roughly 30 to 40 minutes. Now the Refiner Pro and I were starting to get along. Tempo is definitely a big part. Apparently something I was lacking. I was doing 100 swings a day at home. I decided that I would do the 100 from now on with the Refiner Pro. I cringed at the thought of doing 100 swings a day the wrong way for weeks. With the Refiner Pro continuing to show my flaws I started noticing a new swing forming. It felt awkward but I was feeling more torque. My shoulders were now turning. My brain fought me for a little while. It had to learn this new swing whether it liked it or not. In the beginning I had thoughts of this feels funny. It quickly switched to hey the hinge did not break down. That was all that mattered. For 2 weeks my 100 swings a day went away. Let’s just say I was doing more than a 100 a day. The more I noticed the changes on the golf course, the more I practiced.

Final thoughts-

I think using the Refiner Pro Graphite Driver will be very helpful for anyone that wants to refine their swing. In the short time I have been using it, my driver shots are much better. I am also noticing better shots with all my clubs. I am hitting more fairways, and my slice is virtually gone. The last two rounds I played I started to shape my driver shots. I can hit a nice fade now. I will definitely continue to use the Refiner Pro daily. One other note the course I play doesn’t have a range. I now use this aid to warm up before my round.
