I love when a starter, a pro, a company, or a rep gives me something great to test out. When I can deliver a thumbs up to the people who are looking for it, it makes everything easier and better. This wilson ball is almost baffling, first, only $12 a dozen? really? for these? wow. We talk about soft balls, we talk about hard balls, distance balls, control balls, tour balls, and so on. This ball is almost nowhere in one place. I want to call it premium but it's only $12. I want to call it soft but it has more qualities. So I will call it an amazing mid-feel control ball. It is a very low compression(was the first 50 compression ball), very different dimple pattern than usual, soft ball in the sense of numbers but feels more like a mid ball. The distance and control also makes me say it is more of a mid ball. We all know that numbers don't mean lick, it is all about what the balls does for you. Once again, only $12? geez. This ranks up there with the $25 premium balls.

Distance: 7/10

Feel: 8/10

Control: 6/10

Driver Grade: B-

The Shot off the driver is subtle, almost... smooth. But like I said, this ball plays more like a mid-ball. The ball travels like a mid-ball, feels like a mid-ball, and spins like a mid-ball. Distance was almost up to par with most balls double it's price and surely better than balls at it's price. I think that odd dimple design really kept this ball going on a straight line. Usually softer/mid feeling balls don't perform well for my swing speed. But this one sure hugged the lines and just made it onto the fairway everytime. So for the swing speed that this ball is made for, you should be in the center more times than not. It cuts through the sky like it will travel over land and water to the end of time. But that's a soft ball for you, off the face hot and high, but, loses it's way. I liked this ball off the driver because there were no guesses or no surprises. I knew what it will do and where it will go everytime. Better distance and this would be a long players ball, but at this rate, it's a fun ball.

Irons Grade: B+

This is where that high flight comes in handy. It will plop up and land on the green like any top ball out there. Want it to walk back on landing for you? Ok, make the shot and watch the ball creep back. It can handle just about any shot in your bag. But the cover might not like some of those shots. The cover is not that soft, a little firm. It won't fall to pieces on you, but be easy on it if you want it to last. But at $12 I don't think lasting is a huge concern. I liked approached shots with this ball. I remember my first approach shot was a 90 yard chip. It plopped down an inch from the hole for a nice par-4 birdie. Very next hole I holed it from a few feet off the green with an 8-iron for another par-4 birdie. I was in love. This ball just kept me playing and kept me shooting and shooting awesome shots. It lifted me up and I ran with it.

Putting Grade: B

It feels "OK" while putting. It won't run off on ya and it wont be a stick in the mud. Just a decent ball that wont throw in a surprise while putting.

Bottom-Line:

After my testing was done I picked up a dozen of these to play on days where I just want to relax and have fun. This ball made liking golf easy for the 2 weeks I played it. At $12 everyone should have played these at least once in their life with no reason not to.
